Job Requirements

  • Pass level II background check and drug screen
  • valid driver’s license or state identification card
  • ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and kitchen maintenance
  • willingness to comply with drug-free workplace policies
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
  • minimum two years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
  • experience in mental health setting preferred
  • knowledge of simple food preparation techniques
  • knowledge of first in, first out rotation method
  • knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods
  • ability to use food preparation equipment and maintain storage areas

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchens and dining rooms
  • prepare meals according to dietary specifications
  • make specialty meals for residents with specific dietary needs
  • transport meals to other facilities as required
  • adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • use food preparation equipment and maintain kitchen supplies
  • follow first in, first out inventory rotation method
