Job Requirements
- Pass level II background check and drug screen
- valid driver’s license or state identification card
- ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and kitchen maintenance
- willingness to comply with drug-free workplace policies
- ability to work in a team environment
- reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- minimum two years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
- experience in mental health setting preferred
- knowledge of simple food preparation techniques
- knowledge of first in, first out rotation method
- knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods
- ability to use food preparation equipment and maintain storage areas
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchens and dining rooms
- prepare meals according to dietary specifications
- make specialty meals for residents with specific dietary needs
- transport meals to other facilities as required
- adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- use food preparation equipment and maintain kitchen supplies
- follow first in, first out inventory rotation method
