Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Ability to work flexible AM or PM shifts
- Availability on weekdays and weekends
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Manual dexterity and ability to operate kitchen utensils and cutting tools
- Fluency in English
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Positive attitude under pressure
- Willingness to perform tasks outside normal job responsibilities as needed
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Job Duties
- Preparing high quality timely food menu items for general service and special / private events to the exact spec provided
- Taking initiative to prepare general items (slicing and dicing etc.) for service to restock stations without the need for significant guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Adhering to all company SOPs with regards to health & sanitation
- Keeping work-stations clean, organized and inspection ready at all times
- Cleaning and maintaining all small wares and equipment in the kitchen
- Ensuring that set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
- Ensuring that all local and state laws are followed as related to the service of food and the BOH facility in general
