Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as cook
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Ability to work flexible AM or PM shifts
  • Availability on weekdays and weekends
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Manual dexterity and ability to operate kitchen utensils and cutting tools
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Positive attitude under pressure
  • Willingness to perform tasks outside normal job responsibilities as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
  • Training from a culinary school will be an asset

Job Duties

  • Preparing high quality timely food menu items for general service and special / private events to the exact spec provided
  • Taking initiative to prepare general items (slicing and dicing etc.) for service to restock stations without the need for significant guidance
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
  • Adhering to all company SOPs with regards to health & sanitation
  • Keeping work-stations clean, organized and inspection ready at all times
  • Cleaning and maintaining all small wares and equipment in the kitchen
  • Ensuring that set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
  • Ensuring that all local and state laws are followed as related to the service of food and the BOH facility in general
