Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years related work experience
  • Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Frequent standing and reaching
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • Must follow company safety and hygiene policies
  • Willing to work beyond normal hours when needed

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Prior experience in related food service positions
  • Valid ServSafe or Food Handler Certification
  • High level of integrity and honesty
  • Moderate reading and writing skills
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Knowledge of safe work habits and food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepares or directs preparation of food using established production procedures
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required
  • Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time
  • Sets steam table
  • Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
  • Complies with established sanitation standards and personal hygiene
  • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking date
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
  • Apportions food for service
  • Maintains daily production records
  • Keeps work area neat and clean including dishwashing
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment
  • Completes food temperature checks
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, attendance, and uniform compliance
  • Supports mission, values, and vision of California Fish Grill
  • Implements safety procedures and quality assurance
  • Cooperates with coworkers and promotes positive public relations
