Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of experience in a food service environment involving the production of food
  • Fluent in English and able to follow instructions
  • Ability to operate various cooking equipment and adjust recipes based on volume
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate with diverse groups including patients, visitors, staff, and management
  • Willingness to work in environments with temperature variances and exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of experience in a food service environment involving food production
  • Ability to operate cooking equipment and follow recipes accurately
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to variable work schedules
  • Knowledge of sanitation and workplace safety rules
  • Ability to manage customer interactions professionally
  • Physical ability to withstand temperature variations and perform activities such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Adheres to hospital and departmental policies promoting a cooperative work environment
  • Demonstrates commitment to customer service and satisfaction through effective communication
  • Maintains a 97% or better sanitation rating and complies with health and safety regulations
  • Monitors product quality, recipe compliance, and production schedules
  • Sets up and manages the hot serving line
  • Completes daily cleaning assignments and responds to sanitation inspection corrective actions
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and supports other Food and Nutrition Services departments
  • Controls product waste and manages food supply and equipment usage efficiently
  • Plans daily work and adjusts food production based on requirements
  • Prepares food using standardized recipes and maintains HACCP documentation
