Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- Successful completion of a background check including Live Scan
- Must pass a pre-placement physical examination
- Ability to complete a reading comprehension test
- Ability to provide leadership to food service teams
- Must adhere to established food safety and sanitation regulations
Job Qualifications
- Three to four years of experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to perform job duties
- Time management skills to organize production tasks effectively
- Working knowledge of food preparation principles including standardized recipes and batch cooking
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic required for production flow
- Skill in measuring dry and liquid ingredients accurately
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, grills, fryers, and ovens
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures applicable to food production
- Culinary knowledge of inventory, recipes, and menus
- Ability to lead small teams collaboratively
- Accuracy in completing paperwork including logs and records
Job Duties
- Prepare raw food items including washing, trimming, cutting, and panning meats and vegetables
- Provide team leadership to Assistant Cooks, Senior Food Service Workers, and Food Service Workers
- Assign, motivate, and monitor the work of team members during food production
- Prepare menu items and recipes according to production and quality standards
- Adhere to food handling and sanitation guidelines
- Utilize production equipment safely and accurately
- Maintain accurate temperature logs and production records
