Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Successful completion of a background check including Live Scan
  • Must pass a pre-placement physical examination
  • Ability to complete a reading comprehension test
  • Ability to provide leadership to food service teams
  • Must adhere to established food safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Three to four years of experience in food preparation and kitchen maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to perform job duties
  • Time management skills to organize production tasks effectively
  • Working knowledge of food preparation principles including standardized recipes and batch cooking
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic required for production flow
  • Skill in measuring dry and liquid ingredients accurately
  • Experience operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, grills, fryers, and ovens
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures applicable to food production
  • Culinary knowledge of inventory, recipes, and menus
  • Ability to lead small teams collaboratively
  • Accuracy in completing paperwork including logs and records

Job Duties

  • Prepare raw food items including washing, trimming, cutting, and panning meats and vegetables
  • Provide team leadership to Assistant Cooks, Senior Food Service Workers, and Food Service Workers
  • Assign, motivate, and monitor the work of team members during food production
  • Prepare menu items and recipes according to production and quality standards
  • Adhere to food handling and sanitation guidelines
  • Utilize production equipment safely and accurately
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs and production records
