Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP standards
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Physical ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and bend for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a hot environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Work experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend and twist during work
- Ability to work in hot environments and with sharp knives and utensils
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables and desserts
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices complying with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment and measure, mix, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate and check temperature of products
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems to management and servers as necessary
