Job Requirements

  • completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • minimum of two years culinary experience
  • judgment and planning skills required for food preparation
  • must be able to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • ServSafe certification required within 60 days of hire
  • must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt with signed statement

  • institutional culinary experience preferred
  • judgment and planning skills for food preparation
  • ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • ServSafe certification within 60 days of hire
  • fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption

Job Duties

  • prepare short-order foods
  • prepare made to order foods
  • prepare Garde Manger items for departmental feeding
  • perform scratch cooking including soups, stews, chowders, and chili
  • monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor
  • identify and correct any food quality issues
  • accurately extend recipes for proper yields
  • maintain up-to-date production and temperature records
  • keep refrigerators and freezers clean and organized
  • follow established sanitation guidelines
  • report problems to Chef or Manager on duty
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned
