Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • Minimum two years culinary experience
  • Ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • ServSafe certification within 60 days of hire
  • Fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt by certification
  • Available to work 32 flexible hours per week
  • Ability to work day and evening shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Judgment and planning skills for food preparation
  • Minimum of two years culinary experience
  • Institutional culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • ServSafe certification required within 60 days of hire
  • Fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or exempt with certification

Job Duties

  • Prepare short-order foods
  • Prepare made-to-order foods and Garde Manger
  • Perform scratch cooking of soups, stews, chowders, and chili
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor
  • Identify and correct food preparation issues
  • Extend recipes accurately to ensure proper yields and maintain meal costs
  • Maintain production and temperature records
  • Keep refrigerators and freezers clean and organized
  • Follow established sanitation guidelines
  • Report problems to Chef or Manager on duty
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned
