Job Requirements
- Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
- two years culinary experience required
- ability to pass written culinary exam
- Serv Safe Certification obtained within 60 days of hire
- fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or medically/personal exempt
- availability to work per diem shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to work day and evening shifts from 4:30 am to 7:00 pm
- physical ability to perform cooking duties and maintain sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Equal to completion of four years of high school or the equivalent
- judgment and planning skills required for food preparation
- minimum of two years culinary experience
- institutional culinary experience preferred
- ability to pass Southcoast's written culinary exam
- Serv Safe Certification required within 60 days of hire
- fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or exempt by signed statement
- compensation commensurate with experience
Job Duties
- Prepare short-order foods
- prepare made-to-order foods
- prepare Garde Manger dishes
- perform scratch cooking including soups, stews, chowders, and chili
- monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor
- taste, portion, and visually inspect food for quality
- adjust recipes and portions to maintain meal costs and quality
- keep production and temperature records up to date
- maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigerators and freezers
- follow sanitation guidelines
- report issues to the Chef or Manager on duty
- perform other reasonable duties as assigned
