Job Requirements

  • previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment
  • culinary certification or degree from an accredited culinary school preferred
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • good communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude
  • flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot environment

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
  • collaborate with the head chef and kitchen staff in menu planning and recipe development
  • maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
  • ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service deadlines
  • assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies, receiving shipments, and monitoring stock levels
  • adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food items
  • clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • monitor and control food waste and portion sizes to minimize costs
  • assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
  • stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continuously improve skills
