Job Requirements
- High school graduate
- 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible customer-oriented schedules
- Ability to stand, walk, or run during 95 percent of the workday
- Ability to tolerate weather conditions during 95 percent of the workday
- Ability to push, pull, and lift approximately 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population
- Ability to tolerate minimal exposure to odors from auto emissions or gasoline
- Operates all necessary equipment to perform the job
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work a flexible customer-oriented schedule that meets the needs of guests and visitors
Job Duties
- Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
- Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
- Offers assistance in any way necessary including helping out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, escorting to destinations
- Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
- Utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destinations and remains with patients if alone or in wheelchairs
- Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
- Assists with parking arrangements including valet service and tour buses
- Supports customers with transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, or van transport
- Ensures the working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
- Reports security and safety issues to the appropriate department immediately
- Collaborates with hospital support staff such as public safety, environmental services, plant operations, patient transport, and grounds
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide age-appropriate care and support according to departmental policies and procedures
