Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible customer-oriented schedules
  • Ability to stand, walk, or run during 95 percent of the workday
  • Ability to tolerate weather conditions during 95 percent of the workday
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift approximately 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population
  • Ability to tolerate minimal exposure to odors from auto emissions or gasoline
  • Operates all necessary equipment to perform the job

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible customer-oriented schedule that meets the needs of guests and visitors

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility
  • Offers assistance in any way necessary including helping out of vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, escorting to destinations
  • Passes customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
  • Utilizes admitting or other departments to verify destinations and remains with patients if alone or in wheelchairs
  • Assists in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
  • Assists with parking arrangements including valet service and tour buses
  • Supports customers with transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, or van transport
  • Ensures the working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles
  • Reports security and safety issues to the appropriate department immediately
  • Collaborates with hospital support staff such as public safety, environmental services, plant operations, patient transport, and grounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide age-appropriate care and support according to departmental policies and procedures
