Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • proven customer service experience
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • ability to learn new software applications
  • availability to work as required by the community
  • understanding of safety and regulatory compliance if operating Sunrise vehicles
  • successful completion of drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check as applicable
  • COVID-19 and influenza vaccination as mandated by law

Job Duties

  • Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents, extend a warm welcome and greeting, offer and provide beverages to visitors and guests, and ensure that the community safety protocols are in place
  • Contact the Director of Sales, Executive Director, or Department Coordinator to meet with prospective residents, families, or visitors and ensure wait times are minimal
  • Greet potential candidates interested in learning more about Sunrise careers and job openings and direct candidates to apply online or capture their information into the Applicant Tracking System to launch recruitment
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and resident calls within two to three rings with the appropriate community greeting message and identification
  • Take complete messages with pertinent information and communicate messages to the intended recipient
  • Offer and provide a community overview to callers, determine who to forward the caller to, and notify the caller who they are being transferred to
  • Manage appointments for residents and family members such as hairdresser and transportation
  • Send get well cards to residents in the hospital and sympathy cards to families and responsible parties
  • Order Memory Flowers for residents that have passed away
  • Order flowers and name plates for new residents prior to move-in
  • Order guest meals for residents and family for the day of move-in
  • Create and maintain marketing and move-in packet inventory
  • Support the Director of Sales by handling initial inquiry calls with potential families and residents and encourage interest in Sunrise Senior Living
  • Assist with Customer Relationship Management lead tracking database entry
  • Keep desk and entry area neat and organized
  • Check Bistro regularly for cleanliness, ensure fresh coffee, fruit, popcorn, and other snacks are available, maintain and clean the popcorn machine daily, and restock as necessary
  • Keep music playing throughout the day
  • Ensure coverage of front desk when stepping away
  • Partner with community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and risk management programs
  • Practice safety procedures including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Maintain Resident and Team Member Rosters and current work schedules for emergency procedures
  • Champion the Safe Leaving Program to ensure resident safety
  • Respond to emergencies as per policies and procedures
  • Ensure all guests and residents sign in and out appropriately
  • Maintain a high-risk elopement list with photographs at the front desk with heightened awareness of resident entry and exit
  • Update resident phone list, roster, move-in and move-out register, and guest sign-in logs daily
  • Prepare and tally meal tickets for team members and family members and collect and account for meal ticket money
  • Organize and distribute mail and newspapers
  • Post and display the Daily Menu on the Menu Board
  • Maintain resident forms for miscellaneous credits
  • Assist with recruitment data entry and general administrative duties
  • Monitor and order office supplies
  • Track and disperse team member paychecks
  • Participate actively as a committed team member working toward team goals
  • Demonstrate the Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
  • Contribute to customer and team member engagement programs
  • Attend meetings such as Town Hall and Department Team Meetings
  • Maintain compliance with all required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
