Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire
  • Must be able to receive a criminal record clearance from the DOJ
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • At least 2 years of licensed driving experience
  • Must have a safe and reliable vehicle with current, adequate auto insurance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English proficiently
  • Must be comfortable using email, text messaging, web-based platforms
  • Must be able to travel throughout San Diego or Imperial County
  • Ability to lift objects up to ten pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to see, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, and reach repeatedly during work shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with people with special needs is a plus
  • Experience navigating community resources like Social Security, Section 8, and Medi-Cal is a bonus
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English proficiently
  • Comfortable using web-based platforms, email, and texting
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to meet client needs in a personalized way
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Highly reliable and able to follow through on commitments
  • Effective time management skills

Job Duties

  • Schedule, plan, and conduct visits with assigned clients to carry out their individual service plans
  • Provide one-on-one life skills training including paying bills and budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, meal preparation, accessing medical and dental services, laundry and household management, navigating government benefits, building healthy relationships and ensuring personal safety
  • Collaborate with clients to develop their goals
  • Prepare and update ISP reports semi-annually
  • Schedule and attend ISP meetings advocating for client needs
  • Maintain ongoing communication with interdisciplinary team
  • Keep client and program documentation accurate and up-to-date
  • Travel throughout San Diego or Imperial County to meet clients in homes and community locations
