Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in EMS or air medical communications preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel
- Ability to learn custom software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure
- Pass pre-placement drug screening and background screening
- Compliance with Arizona Medical Marijuana Act safety sensitive designation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EMS or air medical communications experience preferred
- Experience in public relations, customer service, marketing, sales, healthcare billing or insurance preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn custom software programs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function calmly in high-pressure situations and make logical decisions
- Ability to pass pre-placement drug screening and background check
Job Duties
- Assimilate various forms of information to make quality decisions and perform specialized communication services including requests for transport and assessment of multiple incoming transport requests
- Maintain effective communication with medical and aviation crew and aircraft using multi-channeled radio systems and perform consistent flight following procedures per FAA and company policies
- Document accurate detailed medical information related to patient condition and transport, ensuring legal compliance
- Coordinate medical transports nationally and internationally with various departments and external agencies
- Input flight and ground transport information into network databases adhering to FAA Part 135 and company policies
- Maintain positive relationships with referring and receiving facilities and pre-hospital agencies to ensure coordinated emergency response
- Implement notification procedures for incidents or emergencies involving personnel as per established protocols
- Attend departmental staff and continuing education meetings
- Receive and process long-distance air medical transport quotes and educate callers on transport services
- Initiate front-end billing process and assist with financial services follow-up
- Conduct outbound follow-up calls to requestors regarding quote status and identify and fill backhaul flight legs
- Keep transplant patient files updated
- Perform other duties as required
