Job Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- registration with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- 21 years of age or older
- at least 1 year driving experience
- residency within 75 miles of terminal
- hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
- pass FMCSA medical exam and road test
- able to lift 70 lbs
- ability to drive in diverse terrains and weather conditions
- compliance with all company policies and FMCSA regulations
- pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- authorized to work in the United States
- ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
- capability to interact with others and work independently or in teams
- meet job demands under tight time constraints
- ability to read and interpret safety and operational instructions
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience
- 21 years of age with at least 1 year driving experience
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- registration with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- residency within 75 miles of terminal
- hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements required
- ability to operate forklift with minimum 7,500 lb vehicle
- ability to handle physical demands including lifting 70 lbs
- familiarity with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules
- ability to read and speak English
- stable employment history preferred
Job Duties
- Operate all types of equipment including manual transmission and chaining tires
- safely operate tractor/trailer following company and FMCSA regulations
- adhere to FMCSA requirements for Commercial Driver’s License holders
- maintain compliance records
- comply with hazardous materials transportation requirements
- ensure security of equipment and cargo
- conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- check gauges and report malfunctions
- report maintenance problems to Fleet Services or supervision
- verify unit numbers against paperwork
- use in-cab technology including electronic logs
- drive different schedules and perform dock work
- run over-the-road as approved by Safety
- provide professional customer service
- assist with loading/unloading freight at various sites
- maintain regular attendance
- perform additional duties as assigned by operational needs
