Job Requirements

  • Have two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year plus approved driving school diploma
  • Pass PITT OHIO driving test
  • Hold or obtain hazardous material and tank endorsements within 90 days
  • Possess valid state driver’s license
  • No driving license suspension or revocation in past 36 months
  • No serious driving violations or convictions in past 36 months
  • No record of more than three motor vehicle violations in past 36 months
  • No pattern of involvement in multiple at-fault accidents or violations in last 36 months
  • Pass Department of Transportation physical exam
  • Consent to negative pre-employment drug screen
  • Consent to prior employer drug and alcohol test result verification from past three years
  • No refusal of drug or alcohol testing in last 36 months
  • No open FMCSA drug and alcohol violations
  • Consent to 10-year work history check with explanation of gaps
  • Application must be complete and accurate
  • Demonstrate stable work history and positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year of verifiable interstate driving experience and diploma from an approved accredited driving school
  • Must pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved trainer or designee
  • Must have or obtain hazardous material and tank endorsements within 90 days on a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State of residence
  • No driving license suspension or revocation in past 36 months
  • No record of specified serious driving violations in past 36 months
  • No past pattern of citations or convictions exceeding limits specified
  • Must pass Department of Transportation physical examination
  • Must consent to pre-employment drug screen with negative results
  • Must consent to verification of controlled substance and alcohol results from prior employer(s) with no positive records in past three years
  • No refusal to submit to drug or alcohol testing in past 36 months
  • No open violations in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • Must have stable work history, good work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Drive a commercial vehicle safely primarily in our road operation during overnight hours
  • Terminal to terminal or terminal to a relay point and return to home terminal
  • Operate Monday through Friday night with occasional weekend work
  • Occasionally make customer delivery or pickup
  • Assist with unloading or loading freight at a terminal using dock tools if certified
  • Secure freight through strapping or other methods
  • Inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy
  • Comply with all Federal requirements regarding transportation of Hazardous Materials
  • Drive tractor/trailer in all conditions following federal regulations
  • Maintain records required for compliance including driver’s logs
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations for safe vehicle operation
