Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- insurable to operate company vehicles
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently for safe operation and communication
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 350 pounds with hand cart, climbing in and out of vehicles, and bending/twisting during loading and unloading
- ability to work overnight schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime
- maintain compliance with all safety and food handling protocols
- willingness to follow management instructions and perform other job duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- experience operating a tractor-trailer and delivering products safely
- skill in driving long distances over various terrains and weather conditions
- ability to operate 3 axle tractor, 45-48 foot trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, key pad, and 2 wheel hand cart
- effective problem-solving and organizational skills
- ability to handle hazardous materials and food products including frozen, dry, and refrigerated items
Job Duties
- Safely transport product from the warehouse to the customer location according to assigned route
- unload product from trailer by hand or using hand cart and place in designated customer storage areas according to specifications
- pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns and transport them back to the warehouse
- complete all required paperwork including DOT logs, inspections, and invoices accurately and timely
- adhere to all food safety protocols including maintaining proper temperatures and sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer
- follow preferred work methods and report any unsafe conditions to management immediately
- maintain and safely operate assigned equipment such as hand cart, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment
- develop and establish good customer relationships through courteous and clear communication
- communicate with management regarding route deviations, loading issues, or product concerns
- safely transport product via backhauls and line hauls, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- work assigned schedules and exhibit regular and predictable attendance
- perform additional duties as assigned by management
