Job Requirements
- Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Minimum one year of experience driving with an active Class A license
- Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under section 391 of Federal Motor Carrier regulations
- Ability to perform basic math and counting
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must pass drug test and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- PITCO Foods participates in E-Verify
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- One year of experience utilizing an active Class A driver's license
- Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards
- Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations
- Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Bi-lingual is a plus but not required
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to hook-up and break down sets of trailers requiring an average lift force of about 100 pounds several times per month
- Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
- Ability to work independently and/or as a team member
Job Duties
- Operate tractor-trailer combination including doubles and triples and/or straight trucks
- Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
- Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer
- Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies including pallets, straps, and rope
- Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports
- Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
- Collect cash or checks for freight charges as required and maintain required documentation
- Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch including delays, arrivals, and equipment problems
- Demonstrate internal and external customer service
- Communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs, solicit additional business, and provide leads to sales
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as required
