Job Requirements

  • Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Minimum one year of experience driving with an active Class A license
  • Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under section 391 of Federal Motor Carrier regulations
  • Ability to perform basic math and counting
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Must pass drug test and background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • PITCO Foods participates in E-Verify

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • One year of experience utilizing an active Class A driver's license
  • Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards
  • Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations
  • Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Bi-lingual is a plus but not required
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hook-up and break down sets of trailers requiring an average lift force of about 100 pounds several times per month
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team member

Job Duties

  • Operate tractor-trailer combination including doubles and triples and/or straight trucks
  • Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
  • Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer
  • Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck
  • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies including pallets, straps, and rope
  • Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
  • Verify and complete required documentation and reports
  • Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
  • Collect cash or checks for freight charges as required and maintain required documentation
  • Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch including delays, arrivals, and equipment problems
  • Demonstrate internal and external customer service
  • Communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs, solicit additional business, and provide leads to sales
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
