Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work a full-time 4/3 day rotation schedule
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to follow dietitian and dietary manager instructions
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school education preferred
  • minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in healthcare, hospitality, or a high-volume kitchen
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus)
  • ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • team player with strong communication and leadership skills
  • knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with facility menus and resident dietary needs
  • ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • coordinate with the Dietary Manager and Dietitian to accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets
  • maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen
  • demonstrate excellent time management and attention to detail during meal prep and service
  • lead and collaborate with dietary team members to promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • contribute creativity and input for menu planning and special events
