Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching, food preparation, and catering
- Culinary degree or equivalent Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef experience
- Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to remain stationary for 2-3 hours
- Ability to move or lift kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in teaching, food preparation, and catering is preferred
- Culinary degree or equivalent Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef experience
- Previous Sales experience is preferred
- Availability and flexibility to work, 3 to 4 events monthly, including evenings and weekends
- Willing to participate in training provided by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels
- Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification
- Customer-focused approach with a dedication to inspire and engage class participants
- Superior organizational skills
- must be able to manage and execute multiple tasks with accuracy
- Demonstrated successful teaching and training experience
- Excellent communication and customer focused skills with an affinity for cooking, a desire to learn, and a willingness to support The ZWILLING Cooking Studio concept for long-term growth
- Knowledgeable about several cuisines
- Open-minded to recipes
Job Duties
- Assist with proper daily class preparation and execution as directed by Resident Chef
- Manage classes developed by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels
- Instruct and oversight of kitchen assistants and porters/dish washers
- Work with the team on cleaning and sanitizing the cooking studio and culinary kitchen after all events
- Willing to follow all ZWILLING J.A. Henckels provided concepts, menus, and recipes
- Teach and demonstrate cooking techniques and knife skills
- Lead instruction for Cooking Studio events and corporate-sponsored programs
- Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to Kitchen Assistants
- Utilize strong salesmanship to promote retail sales before, during and after classes
- Serve as an ambassador of the studio to build class participation and return business
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 2-3 hours at a time
- Ability to reach, push, grab, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, etc. to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise or handle cooking equipment
- Ability to move and/or lift merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef
