Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years at time of employment
- Culinary arts degree or equivalent extensive culinary experience
- 1-2 years of relevant kitchen operations experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others
- Capacity to stand for extended periods
- Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching, and operating kitchen tools
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation compliance
- Willingness to engage customers and promote retail products
- Able to accurately record work hours and follow company policies
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older at time of employment
- Degree in culinary arts preferred but extensive experience with technical proficiency accepted
- 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties
- Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty
- Deliver an exceptional in-store culinary experience focused on pastry and baking classes following provided recipes and game plans
- Communicate technical concepts and advanced pastry skills clearly and encouragingly
- Stay current on products and engage in continuous training
- Drive sales by upholding kitchen standards and promoting retail items used in class
- Achieve class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment and guest satisfaction
- Assist with class setup, breakdown, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, local health codes, and sanitation regulations
- Handle tools, ingredients, and kitchen equipment safely
- Maintain accurate inventory and control culinary supply expenses
- Enforce state alcohol regulations if applicable
- Promote store safety and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures
- Adhere to wage and hour laws and accurately record time worked
- Maintain effective communication and cooperative work with associates and customers
- Operate POS and related technology for class and retail transactions
