Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of related culinary experience
  • ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods
  • capability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds unassisted
  • follow safety policies and procedures

  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • willingness to complete safety training and certifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare plate and platter presentations for banquets
  • prepare cold foods
  • operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing food
  • prepare and cook food
  • weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
  • wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • monitor food quality and test foods for doneness
  • wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • set up and break down work station
  • check and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food
  • follow company safety and security policies
  • report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • maintain clean and professional uniform and appearance
  • maintain confidentiality
  • protect company assets
  • welcome and acknowledge guests
  • anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • communicate professionally
  • answer telephones with etiquette
  • develop and maintain positive work relationships
  • support team goals
  • ensure quality standards
  • perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending
