Job Requirements

  • Must have cooking experience
  • Ability to work full-time schedule mainly Monday to Thursday
  • Skilled in batch cooking for buffet lines serving hundreds
  • Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety regulations
  • Must be able to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced educational food service environment

Job Qualifications

  • Cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • Leadership skills in supervising and managing kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to prepare and present food following standardized recipes
  • Experience with inventory and food waste management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work the specified schedule

Job Duties

  • Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and food service associates
  • Ensures food handling, sanitation and customer service standards are met
  • Interviews, schedules, trains, and manages hourly kitchen staff
  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes
  • Ensures proper food presentation, portion control and serving temperatures
  • Tracks food usage and waste, and manages inventory
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment, workstations and dining areas
  • Helps develop recipes and menus
  • Performs other duties as assigned
