Employees at PFG Customized Distribution are part of a dynamic team that values safety, inclusivity, and professional development, fostering a workplace culture where rewards, recognition, and respect are paramount. The organization also places emphasis on growth opportunities, providing essential roles that are critical to sustaining America’s food distribution system.

The position offered is an entry-level Driver Trainee role that offers a unique opportunity to embark on a career in the transportation and logistics industry. This role involves learning to drive and gaining experience operating tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries. Drivers will be assigned local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, or overnight routes to ensure timely delivery and unloading of various food products to customers. In this position, candidates will be trained extensively in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to ensure all deliveries are conducted safely and efficiently.

The Driver Trainee position features a four-night workweek with dispatch hours scheduled from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., helping support a work-life balance. Candidates can expect a weekly minimum pay guarantee of $1,450, which translates to an annual range of approximately $80,000 to $90,000. Additionally, there is a referral bonus program offering $2,500 to active employees under applicable terms and conditions. Beyond competitive pay, this role provides access to a comprehensive benefits package, including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.

As a Driver Trainee, individuals will engage in an extensive training program to prepare for safe, effective driving duties, including vehicle inspections, freight loading and unloading, paperwork management, and delivery confirmations. This role requires close collaboration with driver trainers and customers, ensuring excellent communication and professionalism. Trainees will perform general housekeeping duties and operate hand trucks, lift gates, and other equipment to handle product freight of various weights up to approximately 90 pounds.

Candidates embarking on this entry-level career path will find themselves thriving in a structured, supportive environment designed to help them gain hands-on driving experience while building a foundation for long-term career growth in logistics and transportation. PFG Customized Distribution values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities to all candidates regardless of background, with a commitment to maintaining a safe, equitable workplace culture.
