Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- At least 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
- Completion of tractor trailer driving school accepted in lieu of or in addition to diploma
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Insurability to operate a commercial vehicle
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English to meet communication and safety requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 350 pounds with hand cart
- Ability to work overnight schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Physical ability to climb in and out of tractor trailer and perform loading/unloading duties in various weather conditions
- Willingness to follow food safety protocols and comply with DOT and company regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Completion of a tractor trailer driving school is accepted
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English sufficiently
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- Skill in long distance driving and customer communication
- Ability to operate a 3-axle tractor and 45-48 foot trailers
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to plan and organize work independently
- Ability to adhere to food safety standards and safety regulations
- Ability to meet minimum company productivity levels
Job Duties
- Safely transport product from warehouse to customer locations according to assigned routes
- Unload product by hand or hand cart, placing items in designated storage areas as per customer and company standards
- Pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns, transporting products back to the warehouse
- Complete all required paperwork including DOT logs, vehicle inspections, maintenance reports, and delivery invoices accurately and on time
- Maintain food safety protocols such as proper product temperatures, inspection for damages, prevention of cross contamination, and sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer
- Operate assigned equipment including hand carts, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment safely
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through excellent service and communication
- Communicate effectively with management regarding route deviations, delivery issues, or customer concerns
- Work assigned schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet customer demands
