Job Requirements
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license
- valid medical card
- minimum 24 months Class A driving experience within last 3 to 5 years
- clean driving record with limited violations and preventable accidents
- knowledge of DOT and FMCSA transportation regulations
- ability to operate electronic logging and transportation management systems
- physical ability to lift heavy items and endure long driving periods
- excellent communication skills
- adaptability to schedule changes and environmental conditions
- valid TWIC card
- physical capability to lift or move heavy equipment/items weighing 50lbs or more
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
- 24 months of verifiable and proven Class A driving experience in the past 3 to 5 years demonstrating a commitment to safety and reliability
- no more than 3 moving violations and no more than 1 preventable accident in the past 3 years
- familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations related to local transportation
- hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software for ELD and TMS
- ability to lift and move heavy items and sit for extended periods during transportation within Hours-of-Service Regulations
- excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members dispatch and customers
- ability to adapt to changing schedules traffic conditions weather conditions and delivery requirements
- strong work ethic punctuality and a commitment to always representing P2D with best-in-class service
- valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential card
- must be able to lift or move heavy equipment/items 50lbs or more
Job Duties
- Safely and legally operate company vehicles to transport goods locally and over long distances adhering to all traffic laws DOT and FMCSA regulations
- start and end the workday or tour of duty at the terminal ensuring timely departure and return of all assigned deliveries
- effectively execute assigned routes while considering traffic weather conditions and delivery schedules ensuring prompt and safe compliant deliveries
- perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle promptly reporting any maintenance issues and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
- complete accurate and timely paperwork including delivery and mileage logs to comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
- maintain effective communication with dispatch shippers and receivers to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues during transportation
- stay current on and adhere to all DOT and FMCSA regulations including hours of service weight limits and vehicle maintenance requirements
- provide excellent customer service representing P2D positively when interacting with clients and the public
