Job Requirements

  • 2 or more years of catering experience involving team leadership
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with an ability to train and motivate kitchen staff members
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, and an ability to ensure that all food preparation and presentation is in compliance with these standards
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to traverse a kitchen and other tight spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Effectively run Barn events as a Charge Chef
  • Oversee and participate in the execution of all dishes ensuring consistency and quality
  • Train, manage and retain kitchen staff and supervise/co-ordinate all kitchen activities fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Create a culture of teamwork and synergy with front of house, immediately addressing any behavior or activity that goes against the company core values
  • Assist with the oversight of inventory, prep lists, and purchasing decisions throughout each shift and event
  • Ensure purchases and inventory are checked in and recorded properly
  • Partner with the Chef de Cuisine to develop and implement new kitchen policies and systems when applicable
  • Attend BEO meetings in absence of Chef de Cuisine
  • Ensure state and local hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation
