Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 24 months experience driving heavy transit vehicles performing delivery services or closely related service
- ability to maneuver navigate and drive a passenger vehicle
- good customer service skills with sensitivity to customer needs
- good driving record
- valid Oklahoma Driver's License
- valid Oklahoma State Class B Commercial Driver's License CDL or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Air Brake and Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- ability to obtain Department of Transportation DOT medical Examiner's Certificate
- ability to physically push a manual wheelchair up an incline or ramp when required
- ability to manually deploy mechanical lift or ramp for passengers with special needs when necessary
- ability to sit for extended periods of time and drive with limited rest breaks

Job Duties
- Operate vehicle while following scheduled routes and maintain a time schedule complying with traffic regulations to safely and efficiently transport employees students and visitors around the campus
- inspect transit vehicle including gas oil water levels brakes windshield wipers lights and safety equipment to ensure proper function and cleanliness
- assist in the loading and unloading of transit passengers and equipment assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicle seatbelts tie downs and caution departing passengers of approaching vehicles
- complete necessary internal compliance and accident report forms
- maintain and report ridership data for the respective routes and distribute to management
- disseminate routine transit and transportation information
- use established safety practices to protect health and safety of passengers personnel and property
- perform other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position
