Job Requirements

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have current NYC DOH Food Handlers Certificate
  • Minimum six years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience
  • Strong understanding of food trends, production, sanitation, and cost controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet tools
  • Ability to manage high-volume, complex foodservice operations
  • ServSafe certification is a plus
  • Hands-on culinary skills and readiness to work actively in the kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Must have current NYC DOH Food Handlers Certificate
  • Six plus years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Strong knowledge of food trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet tools
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable
  • Hands-on chef experience required

Job Duties

  • Plan and create menus that balance flavor, nutrition, and innovation
  • Ensure recipes, portioning, and presentation are always on-point
  • Train, mentor, and inspire staff in culinary technique, food safety, and hospitality
  • Oversee cleaning and maintenance schedules of the kitchen
  • Manage inventory and ensure ingredients are fresh
  • Make creative decisions to reduce waste and maintain quality
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Follow facility and company safety policies
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions
