Job Requirements
- Must have open availability, including weekends, and be able to work all mandatory sale events, such as holidays and promotional periods
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience is essential, preferably within outdoor, sporting goods, or specialty retail
- Extensive experience and passion for winter and water sports equipment and outdoor recreation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills with confidence approaching and engaging customers
- Ability to remain objective and calm under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Highly organized with strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Creative thinker with a proactive work ethic and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and uphold company standards
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Open availability including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Lead, train, and motivate department staff to achieve sales, service, and operational goals
- Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor, ensuring exceptional customer engagement and satisfaction
- Manage employee scheduling, daily direction, and performance feedback
- Guide and promote team and individual development through coaching, training, and engagement
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through expert product knowledge and attentive service
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge across winter sports, water sports, and camping categories, staying current on the latest outdoor trends and technologies
- Oversee merchandising standards, visual presentation, signage accuracy, and promotional setups to ensure the department is organized, clean, and visually appealing
- Prepare the department for promotions and special events, ensuring signs are accurate and displays are organized
- Analyze sales trends and collaborate with the Store Manager to optimize inventory, product selection, and promotional strategies
- Perform store opening and closing procedures as needed
- Contribute to overall store success by assisting other departments and completing additional duties as assigned
- Maintain the sales floor with the highest standards of organization and cleanliness
- Familiarize yourself with merchandise to provide quick and accurate product information
- Stay current on the latest sports and outdoor trends and technology
