Job Requirements
- Must be 21 or older
- at least one year of experience working with school age youth
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid class B CDL with passenger endorsement
- favorable driving record
- first aid and CPR certification or willingness to complete training
- availability for training sessions in May
- ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- ability to interact safely and positively with children
- reliable transportation to and from training and camp sites
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older
- have at least one year of experience working with school age youth
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- college coursework in child development, education, or related field preferred
- valid class B CDL with passenger endorsement required
- favorable driving record
- first aid and CPR certification required or must complete provided training
- strong communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Assist in opening and closing camp for the summer season
- prepare, set up for, and clean up after activities and snacks
- assist campers with self-selected activities
- utilize a bus to provide safe transportation for campers and camp staff
- exhibit excellent vehicle safety and follow driving laws
- maintain awareness of bus occupants and surrounding traffic
- follow all City, KDHE, and camp policies and procedures
- follow basic supervision responsibilities
- participate with campers in group and individual activities
- enforce safety rules
- stay and interact with campers at all times
- intervene when campers are likely to injure themselves or others
- stay current on required training including First Aid and CPR, child abuse and neglect awareness, signs and symptoms of illness, and seasonal employee training
- demonstrate excellent customer service
- communicate effectively with parents, campers, co-workers, and supervisors
