Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of decorating experience
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodation
- Ability to follow company recipes
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
- Ability to use personal protective equipment
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members
- Availability to assist other departments when required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of experience in decorating
- Knowledge of cake decorating techniques and tools
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours
Job Duties
- Keep bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand
- Smile and greet customers, make suggestions, and answer questions about products and cake preparation
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously
- Take customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant attitude
- Decorate cakes and other bakery products using dyes, specific designs, or custom designs
- Use various creams, frostings, and fillings consistently
- Make icing for cakes following company recipes
- Trim and cut cakes to required shapes and sizes
- Spread icing between cake layers and on surfaces
- Tint icing to required colors
- Assist in filling and merchandising bakery sales area following production logs
- Create bakery products for sale in the service case
- Follow rotation and markdown policies to ensure quality and freshness
- Maintain inventory levels through proper ordering and production logging
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries with power jack or hand jack if trained
- Assist with baling cardboard or related tasks if trained
- Maintain general sanitation and cleanliness in department per health and OSHA standards
- Dispose of trash properly
- Cooperate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth department function
- Continuously improve job performance
- Utilize all company provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
- May assist in other departments as needed
