Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be able to work nights
  • be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
  • have knowledge of cooking principles
  • have at least one year of cooking experience in an environment where a variety of entrees and methods are used
  • have Food Safety Professionals certification or equivalent certification within 90 days of start date
  • have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle for positions in Dacula, GA and Orlando, FL on or before start date
  • be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • be able to read, write, and solve math problems
  • successfully complete a Basic Office Skills Test before start date
  • be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions
  • be able to stand for long periods of time
  • be able to bend, stoop, and twist
  • have the ability to work well with others and be a team member
  • show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
  • show commitment to Publix’s mission

Job Qualifications

  • have knowledge of cooking principles
  • at least one year of cooking experience in diverse environments such as restaurants or culinary schools
  • hold or obtain Food Safety Professionals certification within 90 days of starting
  • valid driver’s license and authorization to drive company vehicle for specific locations
  • ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • ability to read, write, and solve math problems
  • ability to follow instructions and work well with others

Job Duties

  • prepare, cook, and serve meals for Publix associates
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • follow cooking principles and recipes accurately
  • work collaboratively with team members
  • adapt to varying work conditions including temperature extremes
  • ensure compliance with Food Safety Professionals certification requirements
  • take initiative and demonstrate pride in work
