Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- minimum 2 years experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry
- valid Texas driver’s license
- willingness to obtain Food Handler’s Card within first 30 days preferred
- ability to motivate, delegate and lead a team
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- ability to follow verbal and written directions
- good mathematical skills and basic finance understanding
- ability to handle stress and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required

- leadership experience preferred
- valid Texas driver’s license required
- valid Food Handler’s Card preferred (or willing to obtain within the first 30 days)
- knowledge of food production methods, materials, equipment, and processes
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to interpret data such as charts and graphs
- effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- good mathematical skills and basic finance understanding
- ability to motivate, delegate and lead a team
Job Duties
- Direct the team to execute the approved menu 100 percent every day
- ensure every student participating in the meal program takes a reimbursable meal
- ensure all methods of counting and claiming are compliant
- observe that counting and claiming is happening at time of service
- check that all counts of student meals are accurate
- enter all counts correctly into internal trackers and PrimeroEdge
- recruit top notch Food Service Specialists and substitutes from the area
- hold weekly employee huddles on operations and nutritional matters
- review and submit employee timesheets every Tuesday
- provide formal, timely, and appropriate feedback on work performance and growth opportunities
- develop Cafeteria Assistant Manager for potential promotion
- identify and address issues of students bringing lunch from home
- conduct Breakfast in the Class audits with target compliance accuracy
- report recipe and menu errors to Cafeteria Manager immediately
- use campus parent functions to promote meal program participation
- promote more consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables through food preparation and display
- rotate milk to ensure freshest product is available
- decorate serving line with appealing signage
- implement and maintain salad bar where approved
- follow the designated menu every day
- follow established food service operation policies and procedures
- track changes in compliance and internal policies
- correct non-compliance issues
- reach out to HQ CNP for guidance
- complete food production records daily
