Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with CDL required
  • Must have excellent driving history
  • Ability to obtain and maintain FMCSA physical certification within 60 days
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid Class A CDL within 60 days
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use pallet jack
  • Ability to safely operate loading gear and cargo doors
  • Willingness to work varying shifts including overnight and early morning
  • Two years of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
  • Sales experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge acquired through 1 to 3 years of work experience
  • Valid driver's license with excellent driving history and CDL required
  • Hazmat certification where necessary
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid FMCSA physical certification with Interstate non-excepted classification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid Class A CDL license for Interstate driving
  • Two years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to use a pallet jack
  • Ability to safely operate loading gear and cargo doors
  • Capable of planning trips effectively
  • Familiarity with handheld electronic devices

Job Duties

  • Perform assigned pre-shift activities to ensure productive shift
  • review work schedules
  • check equipment and supplies required to perform scheduled work
  • prepare for operations
  • Conduct daily pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip safety inspections of truck and trailers
  • Safely and legally operate tractor-trailer following laws and company policy
  • complete required paperwork including obtaining signatures
  • Plan trips using maps, GPS, and other information to ensure legal and on-time deliveries
  • Use electronic logs for hours of service
  • Load and secure cargo
  • Read and comprehend trip-related information
  • load and unload freight using pallet jacks or manual methods
  • Foster relationships with team members and store personnel
  • Perform post-shift activities including coupling and uncoupling trucks from trailers, adjusting tandems, operating loading gear, opening and closing cargo doors, refueling truck, securing equipment, and completing paperwork
