Job Requirements
- One to three years of verifiable work experience
- valid driver’s license with excellent driving history
- CDL required
- Hazmat certification where necessary
- ability to obtain Class A CDL and FMCSA physical certification within 60 days
- ability to lift 50 lbs
- ability to use pallet jack
- ability to safely operate tractor-trailer
- ability to read and understand trip information
- willing to work varying shifts
- good communication skills in English
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days
- ability to obtain and maintain FMCSA physical certification within 60 days
- must read, write, and communicate in English
- two years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- sales experience preferred
- ability to lift 50 lbs
- ability to use pallet jack
- capable of performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission tractor-trailers
- experience with trip planning and electronic logging devices
- excellent customer service skills
- willingness to work varying shifts including overnight and early mornings
Job Duties
- Perform assigned pre-shift activities to ensure productive shift
- conduct daily pre-trip, post-trip, and in-route safety inspections of truck and trailers
- safely and legally operate tractor-trailer following laws and company policies
- check and complete required freight paperwork, obtaining signatures
- plan trips effectively using maps, GPS, and other information for on-time deliveries
- load and unload freight using electric pallet jacks or manually
- foster relationships with team members and customers to address issues and maximize volume
- perform post-shift activities including coupling and uncoupling trailers, refueling truck, and completing paperwork
