Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid South Carolina driver's license
  • Have a safe driving record with a 3-year Motor Vehicle Report history
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds and carry it 50 feet
  • Be able to read a map and organize daily route schedule
  • Be familiar with assigned area
  • Be able to pass drug-screening procedure
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Be able to drive 5-speed manual transmission
  • Be D.O.T. certified

Job Duties

  • Operate truck in safe manner abiding by all applicable State and local transportation rules and regulations
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections on vehicle prior to starting route
  • Maintain daily log of scheduled stops
  • Maintain constant communication with Dispatcher via telephone
  • Load and unload vehicle in manner to safeguard donated items from breakage
  • Keep vehicle clean inside and out
  • Haul trash and scrap metal as authorized
  • Return salvage to centralized warehouse
  • Perform daily post-trip inspections on vehicle and notify the Transportation Manager of any concerns
  • Ensure that first aid kit and fire extinguisher are maintained
