Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalency
  • ability to lift or carry 50 lbs or more
  • ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods
  • ability to push, pull, move, or lift heavy equipment and supplies
  • frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
  • willingness to work days with weekends and holidays
  • prior housekeeping experience a plus but not required

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalency
  • ability to speak, read, and write English as required by the position
  • knowledge of cleaning equipment operation and safety protocols
  • understanding of infection control standards
  • ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • strong attention to detail and reliability

Job Duties

  • Operate all cleaning equipment used for various cleaning or buffing jobs
  • move heavy objects such as beds, desks, and copy machines
  • identify medical waste from regular waste and dispose of both properly following hospital regulations
  • participate in mandatory educational and in-service programs
  • maintain departmental policies, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, washing, and vacuuming floors
  • wash walls and ceilings by hand while minimizing spills or splashes
  • strip and wax floors throughout hospital and outside properties
  • wash and disinfect sinks and plumbing thoroughly
  • perform related duties as assigned or requested
