Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or education equivalent required
  • Two years' experience bartending in a high-volume front bar, service bar, and/or fine dining environment or nightclub setting
  • Must be a knowledgeable mixologist
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have advanced bartending techniques and knowledge of bartending recipes and mixology
  • Experience with elevated garnish, ice, and glassware programs preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of wine varietals and popular producers along with advanced knowledge of beer and liquor brands
  • Advanced knowledge of cigar and tobacco products and popular producers preferred
  • Must have previous experience and be comfortable with jigger usage
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Ability to wear and appear to be comfortable in the assigned uniform provided by Sky River without restrictions

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly quality service and preparation of beverages to all customers
  • Communicate to supervisor any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information
  • Up-sell and regularly replenish beverages, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations
  • Converse with guests about alcoholic beverages, advising the types and styles of beverage, taking beverage orders, and serving beverage
  • Promote, sell, make and present cocktails
  • Comply with legal provisions of local liquor and tobacco codes
  • Assess guest's intoxication level and take appropriate action as needed
  • Actively participate in all cigar and tobacco trainings and certifications
  • Promote, sell, and present cigar selections to guests as well as maintain clean environments for the guests to enjoy their experience
  • Complete all established set-up and break-down procedures
  • Monitor factors which interfere with the total experience of the guest
  • Use refrigeration system correctly
  • Adhere to stock control procedures
  • Comply with all department rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls and all local, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • Accept payment and/or comp authorization upon service of all beverages prepared and/or served
  • Balance register at end of shift and manage his bank daily
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Sky River events & promotions and answer guests questions accordingly
  • Train interested beverage servers for the bartender position
  • Attend periodic meetings and training sessions
  • Clean beverage guns and sanitize them daily
  • Clean menus as required throughout the shift
  • Clean and organize the bar daily including deep cleaning of certain areas as assigned
  • Hold all bar staff accountable to cleanliness and organization of bar area
  • Polish china, silverware, glassware daily
  • Lightly dust and maintain the restaurant
  • Promote positive public and employee relations
  • Always present oneself in a neat and clean appearance and uphold uniform standards of all bartenders
  • Contribute to the team in suggesting specialty cocktail ideas, pairing suggestions, and other incentives
  • Educate all serving staff to cocktail recipes and background of liquors and spirits
  • Participate in Delo
  • Perform other duties as assigned
