This role is a full-time bartender position that offers employment at an hourly rate of up to $18 per hour. The position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and take pride in delivering responsible and impeccable service to guests. The bartender will be the face of the bar, responsible for mixing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standardized recipes while adhering strictly to company policies and local regulations, including responsible alcohol service standards. Key responsibilities include maintaining a welcoming "Corner Bar" atmosphere, identifying guests who wish to consume alcohol, and employing working flair and mixology skills to entertain guests while providing excellent service. The bartender also engages in upselling menu items, keeping the bar clean and organized, and accurately processing transactions through the point-of-sale system. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with guests, personalize the experience, and foster returning customers through excellent service and communication.
Success in this position is measured by consistently fulfilling responsibilities, achieving guest satisfaction, adhering fully to recipe and cash handling protocols, and maintaining a tidy and inviting bar area. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bartending or high-volume beverage service experience preferred
- Certification in responsible alcohol service required
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry heavy items
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to hygiene standards
- Positive attitude and team player mentality
Job Qualifications
- Must be dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved dress code at all times
- Must be able to mix drinks quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Must follow standards of responsible service of alcohol
- Must meet local jurisdiction requirements, including but not limited to obtaining required certifications
- Must be able to operate P.O.S. system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions
- Must be able to calmly respond to angry Guests and notify a Manager
- Must be able to pass initial and annual validation
- Must be able to respond clearly to Guests' requests
- Must be able to hear well amongst loud background noise
- Must be able to frequently lift 30 lb. cases and carry short distances, up or down stairs
- Must be able to stand during entire shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir and wipe
- Must be able to frequently immerse hands in hot water (every 5 minutes)
Job Duties
- Maintains a warm, welcoming "Corner Bar" atmosphere
- ID all Guests ordering alcoholic beverages who appear to be 40 years old or younger
- Properly and promptly prepare, garnish, and serve drinks to Guests
- Engages with Guests by making drinks in front of the Guest using working flair
- Knows the menu and how to read each Guest to make appropriate beverage and food recommendations
- Upsells Guests on food or drink items when appropriate
- Keeps a clean, organized bar area
- Accurately rings up all orders in the POS system while maintaining ability to socialize with Guests
- Following all relevant brand standards for service
- Builds Guests count by promoting specials and building a regular clientele
- Strictly adheres to responsible alcohol service standards and is able to successfully "slow down a Guest" or cutoff an intoxicated Guest when necessary
