Job Requirements
- Must be state required age to serve alcohol
- must have previous barback experience
- knowledge of wine, liquor and food service
- understanding of New York State health and sanitation guidelines
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for long hours

Job Qualifications
- Previous barback experience in a quality restaurant, hotel operation or high-level bar
- knowledge of wine, liquor and food service
- familiarity with New York State health and sanitation guidelines
- ability to multitask and work efficiently independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- strong customer service orientation and positive interpersonal skills
- detail oriented and able to perform tasks accurately and timely
- effective, professional and respectful communication skills
- ability to maintain composure in a stressful environment

Job Duties
- Set up and break down the bar area each shift, maintaining inventory at par levels and alerting the bartender of any ordering needs
- ensure that glassware, ice, paper goods, fruit, garnishes and other supplies are stocked and prepared ahead of bar opening and throughout the shift
- stock juices, fruit, and purees according to expiration dates and maintain organization
- alert the bartender or management of any supply shortages
- maintain complete knowledge of beverage and food offerings, including ingredients and allergens
- greet guests promptly and courteously
- polish glassware throughout each shift to ensure availability
- keep the bar area clean, organized, and free of debris
- assist bartenders with beverage preparation and service ensuring quality and consistency
- check photo IDs to ensure customers are of legal drinking age
- communicate effectively with bartenders throughout the shift
- prepare the bar for the following shift at close
- adhere to health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
- follow timekeeping, sign-in/out procedures, and company policies
- report any guest or staff concerns to management
- other related duties as assigned
