Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hospitality or barback duties preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions
  • capacity to multitask and work under pressure
  • physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work evenings, weekends and varied shifts
  • adherence to safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a barback or similar role preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • basic knowledge of bar operations and sanitation practices
  • ability to safely handle and operate equipment such as knives and blenders
  • physical ability to lift and carry heavy items
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to work effectively in a team setting

Job Duties

  • Stock and restock appropriate areas of the bar with alcohol, glassware, ice and supplies
  • arrange and set-up beverages, mixes, garnishes and supplies, and prepare drink mixes
  • work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
  • safely and effectively transport filled glass racks, ice and cases of liquor, beer and wine
  • tolerate hands being exposed frequently to water, cleaning solutions, alcohol, juices and other liquids
  • safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives and blenders
  • communicate effectively to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken form
  • multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
  • work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
  • move and lift up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all restaurant areas including stairs and uneven or slick surfaces
  • ensure overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guest needs
  • greet guests warmly with a sincere smile
  • use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond with patience and courtesy
  • safely and properly change beer kegs, CO2 tanks and soda dispensers
  • manually wash and sanitize glassware using a three compartment sink
  • account for and maintain security of all bar stock and inventory
  • recognize intoxicated guests, refuse overservice and seek management assistance when necessary
  • respond knowledgeably to restaurant and menu questions
  • follow all steps of service
  • adhere to food allergy procedures and special orders/restrictions
  • comply with safety and sanitation guidelines
  • complete alcohol awareness training
  • follow all employment rules, policies, and procedures including those in the Employee Handbook
  • work well with others and be a team player
  • perform additional duties as assigned
