Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of progressive banquet kitchen experience in a hotel or a related field
  • Must be computer proficient in company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef, cook, or similar role in a banquet or large-scale food service environment
  • Knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and adapt to menu changes
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of all food items for banquets, outlets, and employee cafeterias, following standardized recipes and presentation standards
  • Ensure the consistent quality, taste, and appearance of all dishes served
  • Support the Executive Chef in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in the kitchen, work areas, and storage spaces
  • Minimize waste and optimize cost-efficiency while maximizing production output
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary to meet operational needs
