Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same
  • successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • strong customer service skills
  • exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • knowledge of basic math
  • ability to operate bakery equipment per company guidelines
  • ability to perform basic cake decorating and baking skills
  • proficiency with computer applications for department operations
  • possession of or ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 180 days of placement

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • supervisory experience of 1 to 5 years preferred
  • strong customer service skills
  • exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication abilities
  • knowledge of basic math
  • proficiency in bakery equipment operation including slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter, and pricing gun
  • ability to perform basic cake decorating and baking skills
  • proficiency with computer applications relevant to department management
  • possession of or ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 180 days of placement
  • bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the bakery department
  • increase customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operating procedures
  • provide fresh and appealing bakery products with knowledgeable and prompt customer service
  • execute merchandising plans per department guidelines, maintaining standards on product levels, shrink, and sales trends
  • supervise, train, and coach team members to improve job performance
  • promote an inclusive environment embracing diversity
  • oversee inventory accuracy, product quality, and freshness
  • execute food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards including USDA and COOL regulations
  • handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, order management, pricing changes, and online training
  • ensure adherence to safety programs and proper use of personal protective equipment
  • report and assist with remediation of safety hazards
  • maintain proper storage temperatures and detailed documentation
  • investigate and report safety risks, accidents, safety violations, and illegal activities
  • foster a culture of safety within the department
  • operate bakery equipment per company guidelines
  • perform basic baking and decorating skills
  • fulfill customer special orders and assist customers with product selection
  • maintain merchandising standards to ensure product availability and shelf appeal
