Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of 60 days of experience in full bakery operations and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • health department training required
  • ability to calculate percentages and ratios when measuring ingredients
  • ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken word to respond promptly
  • ability to read, write, and understand English effectively
  • pass a standard drug test and qualify as drug-free
  • ability to lift or exert up to 50 pounds
  • follow all safety rules
  • maintain neat personal appearance and wear approved uniform and hair protection
  • comply with health and safety regulations
  • complete required training such as axonify
  • physically able to handle bakery ingredients and work in varying temperature environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent preferred

  • ability to follow recipes and production plans

Job Duties

  • Greet customers to our store when encountered or as applicable
  • immediately advise department manager of any maintenance or equipment problems
  • observe security standards by staying alert and aware of customer actions and behavior
  • report to manager or person in charge of any abnormal behavior
  • maintain good communications in the department and throughout the organization
  • notify department manager of personnel situations or policy violations affecting operating performance or requiring disciplinary action
  • perform any other work-related duties as assigned
  • maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance according to company dress regulations
  • follow hours on schedule or assigned by bakery team leader
  • adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations
  • assist in receiving and unloading merchandise
  • check and verify receiving for quality, count, and condition
  • keep bakery ingredients rotated according to store policy and product code dates
  • follow instructions given by the trainer
  • follow company recipes
  • learn basics of weighting, mixing, and baking
  • learn weights and measurements
  • understand production planning
  • pan up frozen products
  • mix, ice sweet rolls, sweet breads, and cookies
  • load and unload oven, learn proper temperatures and duration for baking
  • operate mixer and run Moline sheeter
  • assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control of ingredients and supplies
  • handle damaged and spoiled products per policy
  • control excessive use of utilities and water
  • maintain general housekeeping and sanitation according to health standards
  • check refrigeration equipment performance at least once per shift
  • use and maintain equipment orderly
  • complete axonify training
  • use required safety equipment like PPE
  • lift or exert up to 50 pounds carrying bakery items
  • follow safety rules
