Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- professional management and supervisory experience in a high-volume bakery
- expert knowledge of bakery equipment and routine equipment maintenance
- experience working with college-age students as employees and guests
- knowledge and experience with dessert preparation and cake decorating
- experience with baking breads, rolls, and specialty breads
- demonstrated experience with effectively training employees new to the workforce
- ability to follow standardized recipes and review and analyze CBORD reports
- demonstrated experience addressing personnel issues and dealing effectively with conflict

Job Duties
- Train and supervise student employees in the kitchen on all baking practices, food safety, and proper use of all kitchen and bakery equipment
- ensure consistency, quality, and wholesomeness while following standardized recipes
- decorate and plate customized dessert items and cakes as needed for catering guests and special orders
- order food, supplies, and produce needed by the Bakery
- access CBORD correctly and print out all orders from UMD operating units
- communicate daily with the Executive Pastry Chef regarding production orders and menus in the Retail Operations Kitchen
