Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of related baking or food preparation experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Capability to perform physical activities including stooping, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions
  • Good vision including color vision and depth perception
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety standards
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
  • Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to copy data and provide basic instruction
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers including taking product orders
  • Checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule
  • Prepares make up, bakes, and fries all department products as needed
  • Reviews status and appearance of product for freshness and pulls by stale date
  • Invoices and puts away product as instructed by the department manager
  • Anticipates product needs for the current day and subsequent days
  • Inspects incoming product quality and quantity
  • Understands the use and issues related to bakery equipment and follows up on maintenance issues
  • Checks signage for correct labels on ad items
  • Reviews department for potential safety issues
  • Operates as a lead with bakery clerks
  • Prioritizes orders per customer and department manager request
  • Proofs necessary items
  • Pulls product from freezer or cooler
  • Practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains a clean, neat work area
  • Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time
