Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of satisfactory background check
  • Completion of Live Scan background check prior to employment
  • Completion of satisfactory pre-placement physical exam
  • Completion of satisfactory drug test
  • Passing reading comprehension test
  • Successful completion of backlifting exam
  • Availability to work varying hours including nights, weekends, and overtime

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years demonstrated experience in a high-volume baking environment
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficient to determine and carry out job duties
  • Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers
  • Ability to perform under conditions of fluctuating workload
  • Skill in basic arithmetic sufficient to adhere to production parameters
  • Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to fifty pounds
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout an eight hour shift
  • Ability to measure dry and liquid foodstuffs accurately
  • Skill in operating bakery and kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge in food preparation techniques including baking and decoration
  • Strong bakery skills and understanding of bakery terminology
  • Ability to assign, monitor and lead others
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to test and submit new bakery recipes

Job Duties

  • Provide team leadership to one or more Assistant Bakers
  • Assign, motivate and monitor the work of others in the production of multiple bakery products
  • Prepare bakery recipes according to culinary, production and quality standards
  • Weigh, sift, measure and mix baking ingredients
  • Prepare and bake breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, puddings, cobblers, brownies and other baked goods
  • Utilize various bakery equipment safely and assist in training others
  • Adhere to all food handling and sanitation guidelines
  • Follow established timelines for food production
