Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions
  • Must comply with personal hygiene and dress standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with temperature and noise exposure
  • Ability to follow company policies and adhere to safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of related or similar bakery experience
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Capability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all interactions
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner both in the bakery and throughout the store
  • Learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy goods, noting and relaying customer requests, and enhancing the shopping experience
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service, including taking product orders
  • Check daily orders and set production timelines
  • Prepare bakery products by mixing, baking and frying as needed
  • Review product freshness, appearance and remove stale items
  • Invoice and store products as directed
  • Anticipate product needs for current and future days
  • Inspect incoming product quality and quantity
  • Understand bakery equipment usage and maintenance needs
  • Ensure proper signage and correct labels on products
  • Monitor bakery area for safety hazards and maintain cleanliness
  • Operate as a lead with bakery clerks
  • Prioritize orders per customer and manager requests
  • Proof bakery items
  • Retrieve product from freezer or cooler
  • Adhere to proper sanitation and personal hygiene standards
  • Comply with company policies and store guidelines
  • Report to work as scheduled and on time
