Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred
  • six months supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents
  • ability to perform arithmetic calculations
  • knowledge of cash handling and security procedures
  • ability to operate cash register and related equipment
  • strong organizational skills
  • problem-solving ability
  • ability to interact with others respectfully
  • ability to drive to bank for deposits
  • frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping and kneeling
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally
  • occasional climbing
  • ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment
  • exposure to scents, weather conditions, wet floors, and cleaning solutions
  • willingness to provide own transportation for banking and other tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
  • knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
  • ability to perform cash register functions and use tools to generate reports
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • problem-solving ability
  • ability to interact respectfully and effectively with staff, suppliers, and customers
  • strong product inventory knowledge and creative merchandising skills

Job Duties

  • Provide superior customer service to exceed the customer's expectations
  • greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases
  • assist Store Team Leader in creating and supporting a customer-first store culture
  • model product knowledge and selling techniques
  • facilitate and maintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environment
  • merchandise the store attractively and rotate products according to company guidelines
  • assist with employee scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance
  • manage merchandise including receiving, unpacking, stocking, and restocking
  • assist in inventory control and damage prevention
  • ensure financial integrity through cash handling, key control, and deposit preparation
  • assist customers with self-checkout processes
  • manage store operations in Store Team Leader's absence
